Part 3 of 3 of my “Self Discovery” series that revolves around how I’ve grown to be the photographer that I am today.    “It's the passion, perseverance, and stamina that we must channel in order to stick with our dreams until they become a reality.”   Perseverance is a word that really resonates with me as there have definitely been a lot of obstacles to overcome to get to where I am today, but it has made me a better person and photographer.   This image was taken after a 4 hour hike up in the west coast of New Zealand to camp under a glacier. The weather was not looking great for the hike but my friend and I decided to persevere on and hike 1303m up in elevation. When we made it to the top there was no visibility, but as we were setting up camp we finally got a glimpse of the glacier. The clouds started to dissipate at sunset and moments later the clouds came back again. I had always dreamt of capturing this beautiful glacier at night so I got out of my tent with the hope the glacier was visible again. I captured this image with the 3 minutes of visibility I had and I was so overjoyed. All the effort was worth it for that magical moment.   I truly believe that through determination, passion and perseverance anything is possible. Now I am making my dreams a reality.

In February 2021 I made the leap to pursue my passion of photography full time, to chase my dreams with all my heart. Golden moments like this make me realise that there truly is magic in our everyday life, and that anything is possible if you truly believe in yourself.  Taken in collaboration with Cody Mayer at one of the most incredible landscapes i've ever experienced.
