Dune Wanderer

The Dune Wanderer is someone who always wants to experience the view from the top. In this picture, a good friend of mine wanted to climb the highest dune we could find in the Gobi Desert near Dunhuang. I followed him and took pictures of him in the right spot. The Gobi Desert is the largest desert in East Asia, located in China and Mongolia. Although there are many other deserts, the Gobi is generally a cold desert with occasional frost and sometimes snow on the dunes. Since it is located above the Himalayas, the monsoon usually cannot reach the desert, which makes the desert really dry without much rainfall.
