The Flow of Time

By Kristy Glas

The glimmering waterfall warped time and reality, it slowed and speed up at irregular intervals. The ground here felt very much alive, as it rumbled and pulsed with the flow of the thundering cascade.

The hero absent mindedly gazed into the rippling reflections at her feet. Drowsiness almost overcame her, as the surroundings rocked and swayed ever so lightly. She fought off the wave of fatigue, the irresistible urge to dive into the endless slumber.

The air was humid and sweet with a sense of familiarity and nostalgia, it brought back many happy memories. She had a moment for herself, hidden away from the whole wide world, where no one could find her. Her thoughts kept wandering off, as she stared deeper into the flowing water. She sat down at the roots of a giant tree and the time passed while she meditated sporadically, allowing her thoughts and recollections to come to her.

Then the hero noticed something peculiar, so she got up and gently plucked a gorgeous lotus out of the pond. Its glowing petals revealed ancient writings on the walls and even more carvings on the towering trees that surrounded her. She reached out the touch the magic words, and felt a new spark at her fingertips.
