Maroon Bells

By Cody Conk

Fall foliage has always been something that I've wanted to chase and I got my first opportunity in 2021. We did a full send to Colorado as peak season arrived. We spent numerous days chasing the colors and finding new compositions, & then we got some exciting news. My good friend Austin Pederson had a buddy in town who flew planes & offered to take us up for sunrise. I was so pumped but nervous as this was my first time shooting while in the air, & unfortunately I have a bit of a past with motion sickness. As of the morning arrived, we got ourselves ready and headed to the airport. We hoped into the plane and took off. Shortly afterwards we were well above the town & started heading towards Maroon Bells. About 10 minutes later, we witnessed the most incredible views I've seen to date. Flying over the Maroon Bells during fall foliage and snow on the peak of the mountains was the top experience of my photography career (I even had to facetime my mom lol) & one that I'll never forget.
