Hackatao is a decentralized OG artistic duo from Milan, founded in 2007. Combining knowledge and skills from two very different worlds—the underground Milanese art scene and creative communication in advertising—in the decades that followed the duo developed a very recognizable style that started with physical objects such as their stellar series of Podmorks in 2007 and expanded to include today a variety of crypto and digital mediums. Hackatao often use visually alluring pictures to talk about serious issues regarding society’s structure, social justice, the space of decentralized tokenized art, and not least the role of women and the new place of humans in relation to nature. As well as working with major online auction houses such as Christie’s and Sotheby’s, they have collaborated with the online platforms Opensea, Superrare, Nifty Gateway, and Makersplace, and participated in numerous offline exhibitions and projects in galleries and museums.
